歷史

波士頓里維爾海灘及林恩鐵路

波士頓里維爾海灘及林恩鐵路，又被稱為「窄軌」鐵路，從{{tsl|en|East Boston|東波士頓}}開往林恩，於1875年7月29日開通。[7]鐵路與海灘大道平行，從熱門的旅遊景點里維爾海灘穿過，{{tsl|en|Eastern Railroad (Massachusetts)|東部鐵路}}於1881年開通了切爾西海灘支線，沿着現在地鐵藍線軌道鋪設。波士頓溫思羅普海岸鐵路也與切爾西海灘支線共用鐵軌。[8]由於當時這裡還是無人居住的沼澤地區，儘管三條線路都經過此地，但都沒有在此設置車站。[7]

切爾西海灘支線僅在夏季運營，於1891年永久停運。[8][9]1897年4月，波士頓里維爾海灘及林恩鐵路將其列車移至被廢棄的切爾西海灘支線軌道，[10]並在新建成的里維爾海灘淋浴房旁增設淋浴房站，位於現代車站的北邊。[11]1928年鐵路電氣化並建造了候車樓，車站改造不再像傳統的火車站，而更像一座地鐵站。[12]收大蕭條影響，波士頓里維爾海灘及林恩鐵路於1940年1月27日起停運。[8]

1941年，{{tsl|en|Boston Elevated Railway|波士頓高架鐵路公司}}收購部分鐵路計劃用作快速有軌電車線，與{{tsl|en|Ashmont-Mattapan High Speed Line|阿什蒙特-馬塔潘快速線}}類似。受第二次世界大戰影響，線路改造計劃受阻。[10] 1926年的《運輸設施改善報告》和1945年至1947年的《柯立芝委員會報告》建議將東波士頓隧道地鐵延長至林恩，而不將鐵路改造成有軌電車。[13][4]

1947年，大都會交通署決定將地鐵延長至林恩，並於1948年開工建設。[10]1952年1月，{{tsl|en|Orient Heights (MBTA station)|東部高地站}}開放，同年4月，{{tsl|en|Suffolk Downs (MBTA station)|薩福克當斯站}}開放。1954年1月19日，剩下的第二階段施工完成，地鐵藍線延長至夢幻之地站。[10][13][2]夢幻之地站最初繼承了淋浴房站的名字，後來以臨近的{{tsl|en|Wonderland Greyhound Park|夢幻之地灰狗賽場}}命名。夢幻之地灰狗賽場坐落於車站附近，沿用了運營於1906年至1911年間的{{tsl|en|Wonderland Amusement Park (Massachusetts)|夢幻之地遊樂園}}的名字，但由於{{tsl|en|Massachusetts Greyhound Protection Act|馬薩諸塞州灰狗保護法案}}，賽狗場早已關閉。[4][5]

自1954年以來，夢幻之地站除了數次因施工或天氣原因短時間關閉以外，幾乎一直在運行。1978年受{{tsl|en|Northeastern United States blizzard of 1978|1978年美國東北部暴風雪|暴風雪}}影響，車站於2月6日至3月13日關閉。[2]

翻新

1994年6月25日起，夢幻之地站開始長達一年的關閉施工，作為地鐵藍線現代化改造項目的一部分，與{{tsl|en|Suffolk Downs (MBTA station)|薩福克當斯站}}、里維爾海灘站和{{tsl|en|Beachmont (MBTA station)|比奇蒙特站}}同時重建。藍線的終點站暫時改為{{tsl|en|Orient Heights (MBTA station)|東部高地站}}。四座車站重建共花費4.67億美元。[14][2] 夢幻之地站大部分重建，花費900萬美元，並與其他車站一起於1995年6月24日重新開放。[15]2008年6月21日至7月3日之間，車站站台翻新，並短時間關閉。[2]

夢幻之地多式聯運中心

早在1973年，馬薩諸塞灣交通局就提議在夢幻之地站建造一個停車樓。[16]2006年，交通局與{{tsl|en|Conservation Law Foundation|保護法基金會}}就大開掘項目施工增加交通擁堵和過量尾氣排放問題達成訴訟和解。作為和解的一部分，交通局需要對公共運輸進行多項改進。[17]其中，在夢幻之地站新建夢幻之地多式聯運中心，於2010年9月開始施工，2012年6月30日竣工。[3][18]

工程耗資5350萬美元，部分由2009年美國復蘇與再投資法案投資。聯運中心南停車樓擁有1465個車位，同時由公交候車棚、自行車存放點和人行步道。[3][19]{{tsl|en|Christina and John Markey Memorial Pedestrian Bridge|克里斯蒂娜和約翰馬基紀念步行天橋}}斥資2000萬美元，於2013年7月4日竣工並投入使用。天橋橫跨繁忙的海洋大道，將里維爾海灘和車站連接在一起。[20][21]

未來規劃

自從1954年裡維爾延長線被縮短至夢幻之地站之後，進一步延長的規劃便一直在醞釀。大量研究報告建議將地鐵藍線延長至林恩市甚至塞勒姆市。但是大量資金被用於建設地鐵橙線和紅線的南北延長線。[13]儘管一直在持續討論延長地鐵藍線，但由於沒有明確的項目資金來源，規劃並沒有實質性的進展。[22][23]

2012年3月，馬薩諸塞灣交通局計劃在南停車樓樓頂安裝太陽能板。太陽能板有外部合約施工公司進行安裝和維護。[24]2012年6月選出了中標者，並於當年9月份獲得了董事會的批准，預計2013年6月完成施工。[25]然而直至2015年，樓頂太陽能板還未安裝。
